Algarve, Portugal, {Europe}
The Algarve is situated at the southern most tip of Portugal, because of its geographical position it enjoys a year round mild climate and arguably the warmest European destination outside of the Canary Islands. The whole costline of the Algarve is open to swell given the right direction, but its the area from Arrifana on the West Coast down to Sagres in the South which has become a mecca for travelling surfers over the last few years due to its diversity and wide swell window.
The Algarve is much less crowded than other surf destinations in Europe and empty waves can still easily be found. However in the main spots you will still find a surf community with surf shops and the usual surfer vibe to the towns. The Algarve is a great chioce for any level of surfer, more often than not your going to be surfing in great waves with the warm sunshine beating down summer or winter.
