Carrapateira | The Accommodation

Welcome to our Surf Camp in Carrapateira, Carrapateira is a small traditional portuguese village with a small but friendly community located around 20km north of Sagres, This area of the Algarve really is ripe for adventure, compared to the rest of the european surf destinations this area still has lots of secrets and undiscovered surf spots to be discovered by those wishing to go 'off the beaten track'.

The setting is breathtaking to say the least, the camp is situated within one of the Algarves premier national parks 'Parque Natural de Costa Vincente' creating the setting for endless exploration. The house is a purpose built surflodge with large balcony areas with views of the western coastline along with a large 'surfer style' bar area with pool table large screen TV with a vast amount of the latest surf DVD's on offer. We have rooms sleeping 2 to 6 people in bunk style rooms many with balconys with sea views. Outside the lodge is a large chillout / BBQ area which leads through to the bar area which is great for relaxing and sharing stories of the days surfing under the warm evening sun.

The surf camp at Carrapateira is run by the same people who look after our camp in Sagres, so you can be sure your getting excellent service. Head coach Sergio and his team are first class and have been involved in the coaching of some of the bet young surfers in the Algarve! with coaching available to beginners and also those surfers who are looking to move up to the next level we have a wide range of courses on offer tailor made to suit you, also if your here just looking for waves why not try our surf guide option which will give you the chance to surf some of the Algarves more testing surf spots!

The choice of waves you have in this area of the Algarve is massive, you are within walking distance of the beach and one of the longest left handers in the Algarve when the conditions are right, the wave breaks at the southern end of the beach and can peel for upto 150m!. Also the beach at carrapateira is massive with various other peaks up and down the beautiful sandy beach you will have no problems in finding a wave that suits you!. Our lesson will usualy take place on the more famous Amado beach which is where we have our surf cabin and all our surf school facilities, it is a perfect location for conducting our lessons as you will always find consistant and suitable waves here year round.
