Bintang is an ocean going 110ft Schooner, the largest western owned vessel in the Mentawai Islands and is set up exclusively for surf charters. The boat is run by two very experienced surfers and Mentawai boat operators who know where to find the best waves for the given conditions of the day, to sum up an experience onboard Bintang... absolute luxury with the best waves in the world not more than a few strokes away!

Built by Classic yachts of Fremantle Western Austraila in 1988 it is powered by a Gardiner 6XLB 165bhp engine with a cruising speed of 8 knots under full sale. Bintang can comfortably sleep 13 guests in air conditioned comfort. The 25x20 ft saloon has a state of the art entertainment center including TV, DVD and an amazing sound system. Once on deck you will find it very pacious with a seating area for 16 people it is the perfect location for those tropical nights sampling the local cuisine and freshly caught seafood after a great days surfing. Bintang has a 30 ft skiff which travels at 30-40 knots which can get you to the line up quick when conditions start to pump! you can be off the boat and in the line up in minutes.

Also a great benefit of the skiff is the ability to get right into the channel to shoot superb video and still shots of you in the perfect surf. Bintang is also set up for awsome deep sea fishing day or night with free use of all rods and reels ect, also the skiff can get you back to Padang in around 3-4 hours incase of emergency.

Once below decks you will find yourself in a floating paradise. You will have all the modern day comforts but you will be aboard one of the most exclusive surf charters in the world searching for those perfect waves, it really is the ultimate surfers dream to be sailing around these islands in search of the waves of your life, no traffic jams, no stress just pure living aboard this magnificent vessel.

The surf around these island is second to none and is waiting to be discovered by you, you will be sailing around in pure luxury just waiting to drop anchor at the best spot, whilst you wait you can either bronze on the main deck or relax below while skipper plots a course for one of the islands fantastic spots.

2009 Charter Cost: £ 120 a night per surfer / £ 1310 for full 11 night trip
2009 Full Boat Hire Cost: £ 12 500 (max 10 surfers)
£ 650 deposit required for individual bookings / £ 6000 deposit for full boat bookings.
