Arrifana | The Accommodation

Welcome to our surf lodge here in the beautiful town of Arrifana, Arrifana is a small town on the West Coast of the Algarve, Portugal. The town of Arrifana is a traditional portuguese dwelling with no signs of tourism or effect from the ever expanding resorts that you would associate with popular holiday destinations like the Algarve. The town is still true to its roots and has a real feeling of what life in the Algarve is really like, the community is close and the people friendy making this an excellent place to base yourself for your stay in the sunny Algarve.

The Lodge is a new building but was built in keeping with the town keeping the traditional feel to the house, inside you will find all the modern comforts you would find at home including a large lounge area great for catching up with other guests at the end of the day and a spacious kitchen area. Our Bedrooms consist of beautifully presented modern twin or double rooms, once outside, the lodge has two huge sun terraces great for relaxing and also offering unbeliveable views of the costline, this is the area that if you wish breakfast will be served and also the place where are now famous BBQ's take place!

Arrifana | The Surfing

The Lodge is situated just above the bay and is around 5 mins to the beach, the bay of Arrifana is famous for its world class right hand point break that can be epic on its day, given the right conditions the wave at the northern end of the bay will explode on the rocks and peel along giving the more experienced surfers a long perfect wall to display their talents. Fear not though the bay is also home to one of the best beach breaks you will find in the Algarve, a perfect sandy beach with waves breaking all along suitable for beginners and advanced surfers alike.

Surfing in the algarve is an amazing experience, warm weather year round and good water temps are a major draw card for this region of portugal, our surf school is one of the finest in portugal with your host and head coach holding both the portuguese surfing federation and the British {BSA} surf & lifeguard awards which assures you that Lessons at our surf school are of the highest standard, we are a BSA registered school which means our standards have to be high to be part of the affiliation scheme. All our coaches are fully qualified and highly skilled surf instructors and lifeguards. Our lessons range from complete beginner programmes right through to our surf guide option for the more experienced surfer looking to explore the harder to find waves in this area.
